How to Help a Dog Scared of Indoor Fireworks?

Almost every single human always look forward to bring up some great New Year or Christmas celebrations with a bunch of fireworks all around them. But you might not know the fact that if you have a dog in your house, then you better stay limited with your indoor fireworks.  The dog is one such animal that gets many thrills over the events, sights, and sounds of fireworks produced around them. They might react differently by hearing some loud noises around them or even bright lights too.

Being a responsible pet owner, you have to make your dog feel relaxed and calm or less scared during the fireworks.  Here we have some important tips for you which you can perform with your dog during the firework session:

  • On the events like 4th July or New Year or Christmas, as soon as the fireworks start to make sure you keep the dog indoors at such a place where the noise of fireworks cannot reach them. You can feed them in your house basement or in one such room that is completely soundproof.
  • Still, if you want to take along with you outdoors for fireworks display events, make sure you make some adjustment on one side to calm them down. Make your dog feel safe and secure around you.
  • Take the dog inside your house; close all the doors and windows so it can minimize the sound of the fireworks.  You can also choose to shut down the drapes or blinds of the windows of your home to block the flashy fireworks light.
  • Even though if staying inside the house, the noises of fireworks are giving your dog a feeling of anxiety, then try to make some other noises to distract them.  Try to play some loud music or turn on the television over high volume. This would work for your dog!
  • Plus, you can start playing with your dog and distract them as much as you can.  Give them a toy or a ball to play with to calm down their stress level. Diverting their maximum attention would divert their mind for not paying attention to the firework noises.
  • On the day of fireworks, take your dog on some long walks or jogging, so it can exhaust them so much that they can take a fast sound sleep at the end during the fireworks session.

Finding your dog being anxious and stressed out during the Firework display Brisbane is common. Take care of them and make them feel relaxed as much, possibly as you can!
